Spirit of
St Vincent's

Where some see care as a service, we see it as a mission, to provide compassion and support that befits our heritage and faith in human kindness.

“I look around in the mornings here. Margaret has her blinds open. Amy has her door open. You wouldn’t find that anywhere."

Gisela

"I didn’t want to come in here because I thought you have to be Catholic, but you don’t ...everything worked out fine, and it went absolutely wonderful. So, I’ve been blessed. Very blessed.”

Maude

“You can be as quiet as you want. Noone makes you do anything you don’t want to do."

Pat

"I’d recommend it to anybody. This is the place to come."

Les

“It’s really like living in your own little street with your regular neighbours. It’s very good.”

A retirement village is a purpose-built community which offers a range of accommodation, services and facilities to people who want to consider a change in lifestyle to suit the next chapter of their lives. Retirement villages tend to have a strong focus on community, lifestyle and convenient access to amenities including cafes, gyms, pools, communal dining areas and more.

Most retirement villages at St Vincent’s allow pets such as cats and dogs to move in. Hearing or guide dogs are allowed at every retirement village at St Vincent’s. For information specific to the village you are interested in pet policies can be provided on request.

Definitely! Each retirement living resident committee provides monthly programs and the arrangement of who organises activities differs depending on the village. For more information on these or for a copy of a monthly program, please feel free to get in touch with us.

All villages have appropriate pathways and accessibility for wheelchair, walker and scooter access.

All our villages are within reasonable distance to public transport. They also have a village bus which operates on specific days to take residents to local shopping precincts and for occasional outings. These busses are operated either through volunteers or through external community transport groups.

All maintenance requests are directed to the receptionist or the maintenance logbook in the office. We repair all existing St Vincent’s fixtures and fittings to the unit and grounds.

Sit back and relax as we coordinate regular maintenance of the grounds and common garden areas, external cleaning, and building upkeep.

Many of our retirement village residents currently have home care workers support them day to day. You are of course welcome to continue using these services at St Vincent’s. If you do not have a home care package or wish to change yours, St Vincent’s Care does offer home support services.

For more information on this, please contact our friendly team or find out more here.

Note: If you are currently using the Commonwealth Home Support Scheme, it is important that you transition to a home care package as this support scheme is not a permanent solution and is scheduled to finish in June 2022.

Enjoy peace of mind knowing that assistance is available, if required. All our residences have a 24-hour emergency call option with personal pendants.  Many of our retirement living residents also take advantage of our Community Living services. Whether it’s lending a hand with day-to-day chores, organising visits to or from health professionals, or simply sharing a cup of tea and an enjoyable chat, we are here for you.

Our philosophy is to help you to stay within your home for as long as we can manage your health needs safely and to a high standard. However, should the time come when you need additional care, you will be given priority access to our aged care services (subject to availability and care requirements), many of which are co-located with our retirement living communities. This also includes short-term respite.

You can find out more about our aged care services here.

Each unit comes with a 24/7 emergency call system in case of any emergency.

Applying for an apartment in our retirement living communities is managed directly with St Vincent's Care Services through a Licence to Occupy agreement. This agreement means you pay an in-going fee equating to the purchase cost of the unit and gives you a right to licence and reside in the apartment for up to 50 years.

You also pay a small daily fee (similar to a body corporate fee) which covers garden and site maintenance, on-site recreation services, rates and water charges, and administration costs.

Our Admissions Contact Centre team would be pleased to talk you through the particulars and answer any questions you may have. Please contact the team on 1800 957 452.
