St Vincent’s Retirement Village Heathcote (John Paul Village)

No matter where you look, St Vincent’s Heathcote is humming. With all the peaceful perks of being ‘in the middle of nowhere’ and all the groups, joy and liveliness of a communal retirement village, residents come to Heathcote for the lifestyle, but stay for the surrounds that give them life.

Heathcote’s homes are arranged to make it really ‘feel’ like a village with village community groups that bring everyone together; - craft groups, singing groups and even community happy hours!

A lively community and the choice and freedom to do what you want to do, and as much as you don’t want to do: that’s what makes Heathcote so unique.

Why families love St Vincent's Care

Feel
Welcome

This is our promise to you and your family. Our people are here to ensure you can continue living as full a life as possible.

Continuity of
care

With services across Retirement Living, Home Care, and Aged Care we are best placed to help you, no matter what part of your journey you are on.

Our hospital advantage

As part of St Vincent’s Health Australia, our residents and clients have access to an extensive, world class health network.

Spirit of
St Vincent’s

Where some see care as a service, we see it as a mission, to provide compassion and support that befits our heritage and faith in human kindness.

“I look around in the mornings here. Margaret has her blinds open. Amy has her door open. You wouldn’t find that anywhere."

Gisela

"I didn’t want to come in here because I thought you have to be Catholic, but you don’t ...everything worked out fine, and it went absolutely wonderful. So, I’ve been blessed. Very blessed.”

Maude

“You can be as quiet as you want. Noone makes you do anything you don’t want to do."

Pat

"I’d recommend it to anybody. This is the place to come."

Les

“It’s really like living in your own little street with your regular neighbours. It’s very good.”

Yes. You may have to pay a departure fee when you leave this village. This is standard across most retirement villages. For more explanation on this, you can chat to our team to request documentation.

Yes. We do have daily fees or Recurrent Charges which cover maintenance, repairs and capital improvement. These differ site to site. For more detail, please reach out to our friendly team.

All maintenance requests are directed to the receptionist or the maintenance logbook in the office. We repair all existing St Vincent’s fixtures and fittings to the unit and grounds.

Sit back and relax as we coordinate regular maintenance of the grounds and common garden areas, external cleaning, and building upkeep.

Many of our retirement village residents currently have home care workers support them day to day. You are of course welcome to continue using these services at St Vincent’s. If you do not have a home care package or wish to change yours, St Vincent’s Care does offer home support services.

For more information on this, please contact our friendly team or find out more here.

Note: If you are currently using the Commonwealth Home Support Scheme, it is important that you transition to a home care package as this support scheme is not a permanent solution and is scheduled to finish in June 2022.

Enjoy peace of mind knowing that assistance is available, if required. All our residences have a 24-hour emergency call option with personal pendants.  Many of our retirement living residents also take advantage of our Community Living services. Whether it’s lending a hand with day-to-day chores, organising visits to or from health professionals, or simply sharing a cup of tea and an enjoyable chat, we are here for you.

Our philosophy is to help you to stay within your home for as long as we can manage your health needs safely and to a high standard. However, should the time come when you need additional care, you will be given priority access to our aged care services (subject to availability and care requirements), many of which are co-located with our retirement living communities. This also includes short-term respite.
